Alot of places are saying this is a lot of work to be involved and probably a full day. Like around $500. A normal car like a honda accord would take 3-4 hours to install the z1. He said this is infiniti and want it done right like a benz or lexus. I want the PAC steering wheel thing installed also. He said that takes like 2 hours. Why is this so much money to install this dam thing? This is going to be around $2500 installed. I already have the z1. I know i want it done right. How much should this really be? They said soldering doesnt take a short time for that button and so on.

The guy is ripping you off. I had mine installed with the Bluetooth Wireless adapter as well as the IPOD connector for $240. It took them 3 hours to do the whole thing.

what is going on why do they say this takes so long and complicated? Taking off the bracket and putting the double din one on. Putting that bose bypass module in for the factory amp. Now this makes me leary of going back and setting up a date. I really dont want to pay $500 for labor.Originally Posted by Truth

be firm on talkin' to him. He's obviously exploiting the fact that u don't know much about the install and also the fact that there aren't many install shops around the area. Ur already spending big on the Z1 itself...try contacting pioneer itself and asking them install time on ur car with these features...maybe they'll give u a quote on how long and then u can go back with that
If the shop knows the G it will not take them that long. $200-250 is a good price. Print out the DIY and give it to them and ask for a better quote or go to another shop.

damn $500 is friggin ridiculous...I had mine installed at one of my friend's shop for $200 which included the pac swix...

You need:
The DD kit - Bezel, EVAP controls, and maybe the bracket (most don't need it).
A standard Nissan harness adaptor
A Nissan antenna adaptor
Other options are steering wheel interface, back up camera, changer, ipod interface, Sat radio interface, etc.
That's what I can think of off the top of my head.
so what is the most should i be paying for labor install with the steering wheel interface and bypass harness for dvd in motion?
It sucks you have to add a bypass harness. On the eclipse and Alpine (older, not sure about new ones) units you just ground the parking brake wire.
