Hahahahaha - 7500mi service = $180 at Infiniti of Ardmore

I just called to schedule an oil change at Infiniti of Ardmore (PA) and I asked how much the 7500mi service was. The lady on the phone said $180. I said "wow, that's a lot" and she told me that it was an oil change and tire rotation. My response was, "haha, the oil change is $40 last time I checked so you're charging me $140 to rotate my tires?" to which she said "well, they look at your car but you can just do an oil change". WOW. Time to check the manual to see what's involved.

Nice to meet a fellow member from the area. Just change the oil yourself....you'll save yourself a butt load of cash in the long run

Yeah man, I was thinking about that. I'm going to try a Nissan dealer on the Main Line. Where are you at?

I'm from the Norristown area which is nearby you. If you take your car to the dealer, make sure you save those service records. If you do your own oil, be sure to keep your receipts. I think if you have a flat driveway, you should change your own oil b/c its not that difficult. There are great DIY on the forum regarding oil changes.

Most of the maintenance is easy to DIY if you have a garage or area to do it. It will save you a ton!

Yeah, I'm looking into it. How do you guys get the old oil out? Just drain it or do you use one of those vacuum pumps?

You would just drain it. The oil plug is on the passenger side of the car. You can see it through the access hole if you are under the car.

All you need is a good jack, a jackstand, a socket wrench, oil filter, oil, crush washer, and something to untwist the old oil filter and ur set Oh yea, beer too.

Ardmore uses their own reccommended service intervals for selling items such as tranny flushing. Oddly, those intervals are more frequent than less...go figure.

Those pumps aren't of any real value for our cars. As you still have to get under the car to change the filter.

Honestly, by the question you just asked makes me think you might want to leave the oil/filter changes to the professionals

Hey, you gotta at least give it to the lady on the phone for being sincere and telling you that you'd be paying $140 for them to "look at your car" Just have the oil changed...
