DAmit Infiniti!

This is the story. Supposedly three months ago i was having my oil changed by infiniti. I went on with my daily life for three months. My car has been making a weird click noise for the past 4 or 5 weeks. I thought it was my transmission due to the fact that it is already messed up and being replace this week.

The main reason i thought it was my transmission was b/c every time i would change gears or whenever i engaged the clutchthe clicking would start up. So I was driving a buddy home from are class and we noticed that the clicking could still be heard when the car was reved in nutural. So when we got to his place he got out and I reved the engine and he said it sounded like it was coming from my Valve train. So it wasn't the Transmission the whole time.

From their I went Straight to discount auto and got some oil. When i got back and started to drain the oil the oil started to come out slowly. After about 45 sec in came to a drizzle. We put some oil through just to make sure that all of it was out and it went strait through into the bucket. So now that it was all out i looked at the bucket and their was less then a court their. Infiniti never changed my oil! Theirs no way in hell my car can consume 4 courts of oil in 3 or 4 months.

Now god knows what is wrong with my engine. And now that i have change my oil the sound is gone. Their is no way to prove that this ever happened. Is their. Now boost is out of the question. I will be calling infiniti tomorrow but wtf is that going to do. I wish i just left it as is.

Drain oil and put the old one back in lol. Pretend you never opened it, it probly will start making the sound again. But go to dealership right away. I dunno if that's safe to do though.

Bummer, that's a tough one because as a driver you really need to check your own oil etc on a regular basis. And since you can't really prove that they never changed your oil it might be an uphill battle.

Bottom line, EVERYONE should check the oil in every car they drive at least once a month if not twice.

Yea i know, i f*cked up their. But the point is its not my fault and i have no way to prove this. I don't think me not checking my oil will hold up to well as an argument. I don't think grandma checks her oil once a month. But it will be a future habit of mine.

Was the engine running hot before you added oil? Because an engine with as little oil as you describe would be running REALLY hot due to all the friction.

that noise you heard was your engine grind...did you find any metal bushings inside your drained oil?

^ WTF did he say?

The noise you were hearing was most likely your lifters which were staved of oil.

Like i said i thought all this was due to my transmission never really checked to see what the engine temp was. Never really thought to look. Alot of bone head mistakes.

There really isn't a way to prove that they didn't change your oil. Sorry bro.
