I just used butt splicers. They work fine for stuff like this.

Glad to help.

It's so much better than keeping a garage door opener in my car all the time. With 20% tint the dimming does not react as fast as I would like but it's not too bad.

Does anyone have a DIY for this install? According to my service manual, it looks like the connector for the mirror is already in the headliner. But, I can't figure out how to remove the map light to check for it. If you run the universal wiring harness, does it go under the headliner and down the A pillar to the fuse box?

Thanks for any help,
Mark

It's only up there if you have the premium pkg. The non-premium does not have it.

Hi all,
New to this forum but recently installed a Gentex Homelink mirror in my 2007 G35X with compass...fortunately, I took step-by-step pictures and so will post a complete DIY in a new thread as soon as I download the pictures from the camera.

If you follow the steps I did, then you should finish the job from start to finish in under 35 minutes.

Should be posted within a day or two...

FYI.

My G came with homelink and autodim. But if you have tinted windows and most G's do, that car behind you has to be closer than you'd think for the auto dim to activate.
I wish are side mirrors had the auto dim as well.My Dodge Grand Caravan did,now that was neat.
