high speed handling sucks in the G
Mine (sedan) starts to get floaty at 135 and up. I don't have the air kit or front lip. If you are doing it at 80, I would have your alignment checked. It sounds like your toe in is not set right. If it "hunts" a lot, your tow is wide.

(and this is all highway) I also just got a tune up,-new air filter, plugs, cleaned MAF, tranny flush, coolant flush, and alignment and none of this helped my mpg.
Thanks for all the great info guys!!!

On my trips from Atlanta to Jacksonville, FL and from Atlanta to Kansas City, my fully loaded G (3 people, full trunk, A/C on, summer) averaged 28mpgs and as high 29.9 mpg in 100% highway cruising at ~75mph. In 50/50 driving, I'm averaging 20mpgs in the winter and about 22mpg in the warmer months. In 100% city driving, I see 18-19mpg.
Anything above 130 on the stock suspension feels like she gets a little squarely. Almost feels like the car is starting to raise up. After Installing some coil overs and slamming it, its solid up to 145. Some sways should top it off.

As for aerodynamics, the G35 sedan has a CF of a mere 0.27 (0.26 with the rear wing) which is better than most anything on the road, especially your M3 (0.33 CF). The G also has zero lift aerodynamics. These two things greatly increase high speed stability. If you want your G35 to feel like your M3, then you're going to have to add lower profile and wider tires and a much stiffer suspension to match your M3's rather harsh ride quality and immediate handling response. Remember, the G35 is not a factory tuner car like your M3therefore you can't expect it to have the same performance qualities or levels.

G35 and it's design.............
Just because I car will go 130+ doesn't mean it's safe to drive at that speed!
Especially a G sedan with those little 225s in front. Plus where can you go
that fast safely and not put someone else in jeopardy? I talked a friend of
mine out of trying to hit 200 mph on his way to Vegas.....explained to him
that at 200 mph you'll be coming up on other drivers so fast it isn't safe
for you or them.....see the concept? He could reach that speed with his
600 HP Viper but where? Semi-Safe is a closed course!
Rev. Gary.....out!

I think its your tires or some balancing issue with your tires as well. I've taken mine up to 120mph (straight line) and the car is quiet and stable. At 80mph it definitely should not be a problem.
I'm on Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's, but even before on stock tires it was never an issue.

haha, i completely and totally utterly disagree with that statement, i love how my G handles at high speeds. I've done 100+ a couple times on a canyon run that i've driven almost everyday for the past 10 months, even through the twists my car feels like its on rails. But that might be the fact that my G is lowered over 1.5" on Tein Basics and i have 19" staggered wheels with S03's
i love my G at high speeds

Maybe its just that its an 03 with 60,000 miles and needs a good suspension lookover. (no offense intended..i love the 03/04's) but in my 05 6mt I can do 110/120 and remain stable. This is with the stock sports suspension and volk wheels. Sometimes when I look down at the speedo i notice that Im doing between 90 and 100 but it felt as if I was going 60.

I don't think drag is the prob, I'm thinking its the tires. Ive got 245s up front and 275s out back so she sat pretty Stable with the stock suspension on. After the 3-4inch drop with the basics its almost perfect.
