Whats the best coilover setup for the 05 6MT G35 Sedan which doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

depends what the best is in your opinion. Stiff ride? Soft ride? Search around.

That is a very vague question.

soft: Tein CS
cheap: Tein basic or Megan or ...

If your not looking to track your car that much or at all then i would go with basics. The ride is not that harsh and the price is good at around 800$. The only draw back is that you cannot adjust the dampening with the basics.

Thats what i know about the Tein basics.

If your going with coil overs your doing it right, GL.

Basics are the best cost effective coilover. You cant adjust the dampening but the spring rates are perfect for a comfortable/sporty ride.

I agree the basics are a good low price choice.

The other option if you want a better ride with more control keep your eye out here and on my350z for someone selling the Tein CS with EDFC. The EDFC does not work with the Basic.

flex is a street/track coilover and cs is for more comfort, cs stands for comfort sport.

So basic = no adjustments.

What choices do I have if I want to be able to adjust them.

I want to ride confortably when Im just crusing back and forth with the wife...but when she is not with me I want to set them where they will be competitive .

Tein with EDFC would be your best option.

basics have ride height adjustability, but no dampening adjustments. For me, they are the perfect blend of a comfort/sporty feel, ride isnt harsh at all, but when i want to push the car to its limits, it lets me do so with ease. My girl didnt even notice the difference in the ride after i put em on.

but it sounds like you're looking more for a setup like Tim's (Tein CS); being able to have the ride nice and soft for when the wife/kids are in the car and being able to have a more stiff (but not as stiff as basics) ride to push the car like its meant to be pushed. However CS' are a bit more expensive than Basics (used $1000-1200 +$2-300 for edfc). Also, install costs a pretty penny for edfc.

Thanks for the info. Im considering the Tein CS setup. I'll probably buy a new setup. I'll have to shop around for a good shop to install them.

Any warranty issue with a tein cs setup beside the suspension being voided?

They should not be able to void any other warranty unless they can prove the change caused the problem.
