Your POP intake is now sucking in hot engine air all the time because this cover has now sealed off the source of fresh air into the engine bay.....the grill.

no, it looks like this diverts some air that would go to the radiator into the power duct above it... still cold air

it looks great but saying anything about increasing power or it affecting gas mileage will sway most that know anything away. the companies that came out with this for other models are not stupid, they are in business to make money. unfortunately, exaggerating claims is the name of the game in most aftermarket car parts.

But thats why ayn and every drift car team and drag team have this type of product on their cars! it doesnt do anything! I dont think GRready would waste their time making it if they didnt think it did something!

Yes, they're stupid. Just because they have the ability to build a part doesn't mean it's a benefical part.

All the air that enters the intake sytem (over radiator snorkel and Power Duct) comes from two sources, the grill and the bumper openings. No real mearsurable air would be able to slip in through the hood and grill gap, especially seeing that that the hood has a weather seal along the front. This block off plate is not a good idea from a performance standpoint. It's one of many bling mods that do more harm than good.

I thought there was a weather seal on my hood...I agree, can't see how blocking flow is helping much.

I don't think it blocks flow. It's called a diversion plate, so I assume it just redirects the flow. I don't think it has any measurable performance effect (- or +). I don't think Tyson has made any claims of gains, he just wanted to make a panel for us sedan guys because we didn't have it available to us.

I guess I fail to see how this is diverting flow to the intake. From what I'm seeing is that it's diverting the fresh air source away from the intake. The OEM layout flows the fresh air through the grill and bumper openings. Some of the air is pushed through the radiator and some of the air goes upwards into the intake. With the diversion panel in place, nearly all the air (except for that which gets through the latch opening) is diverted through the radiator therefore the only air entering the stock intake or aftermarket intake would be that of stagnet hot air.

If someone would do a before and after analysis with a datalogger viewing intake air temp, I'm certain the results would support my claims.
