New to G35s and the Board
New to G35s and the Board
Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new board member and potential G35 owner.
I'm 19, from Indiana, live just north of Indianapolis. I'm looking at getting a new car this spring/summer - and the G35 sedan will probably be it. I test drove one shortly, and liked it. I'm really a huge Euro fan, and would ideally want an E39 M5... as my daily driver..
Just a bit outta my price range, though.
Anywho, I'm searching all the posts on here to learn as much as possible. I was just wondering if there's any helpful insight on these cars, esp. the 03/04 model years, with auto trannies. I drive pretty hard, and am wondering how long they'll last before going out.
But again, just wanted to poke my head in and say hello. I will be frequenting on here quite a bit to learn more about these cars before I take the plunge...
Thanks!
- John

Welcome! My transmission is fine, although I have only about 22600 miles and on my short "commute" of 7 minutes in a busy suburb I don't drive it hard! I have had it go into "limp home mode" a couple of times for unknown reasons when starting out. In this mode it stays in third to let you get home and presumably happens if you over-stress the transmission, which was not the case when it happened. It resolves by turning the car off and immediately restarting it. The dealer didn't find anything.
I love the car.
I love the car.
