Hi,
The only difference is the ring and pinion gear. Also the
axle flanges will be different if you were to install a Nismo,
Kaaz, Nissan OEM Viscous or other brand lsd. Carrier
bearing might be different too (will know in couple of days).
As far as we know if you change the ring and pinion to the
one off from G35 coupe or 350Z, the lsd unit will fit.
The final gear ratio will change too. G35 AT is 3.357 and the
350Z 6 spd MT is 3.538.

That's exactly that I said on the same thread on fresh alloy. Something is not right if any shop runs into problems installing any LSD that will factually fit into a 350Z rear end. As mentioned, the Stub axles, bearings and seals all come over from the stock LSD diff application.

Dang straight, it's all about the glory of helping. Who have you helped today?

Has anyone priced out the ring and pinion gear yet? After shelling out $900 for the Nismo LSD, and $400 for the install, I'd hate to have to add a whole lot more money to make it work.

OK, just talked to Jennifer at Performance Nissan and all we have to figure out is which ring and pinion gear we need. Apparently there are 3 to choose from. 2003 base, 2003 other and 2004. Any suggestions on how we figure this out?

Hi,
350Z came with two final ratio. MT is 3.538 and AT is 3.357.
Roadster is same too according to their spec. sheet. So far
we know that the G35 coupe MT is same as 350Z MT. G35 sedan AT is same as 350Z AT which both has 5spd auto tranny. I am pretty sure the Sedan 6mt will be same but needs to be confirmed with the dealer. We just cannot find enough data on Infiniti vehicles from the web or their catalog.

lead_foot, just run down to, or call, Peacock Nissan. Their parts guys are good at looking this up and they may have some in stock so you can look at them.

Thanks JCV. I think I got all the info I need. Now we just have to order the part. I'm also waiting to hear from G35spot to see how his install went. The bad news is that it's another $400-500. Ouch!
