New Spoiler
Just added an aftermarket rear spoiler. Looks almost exactly like the factory but half the price. Took me just a couple of hours to install including wiring the 3rd or should I say 4th brake light.

Re: New Spoiler
I can't really say since I've only seen the factory spoiler in pictures. The after marker one I have looks almost exactly like the factory one. As far as weight the one I have is light, maybe 10lbs. Quality was first rate, it was prepainted and match my platinum perfect.

Re: New Spoiler
If you get the spoiler as an original option from the factory, they don't install a brake light in the rear window, so you don't have that double-middle brake light thing going on.

Re: New Spoiler
I read that I was suppose to get some sort of cover for the 3rd brake light but I never saw it. Lets put it this way if people can't see me stop now then they have to be blind. :-)

Re: New Spoiler
If you want to turn off the 3rd brake light (in the back window), here's how:
1. Open the trunk, and take enough clips out of the upper trim to pull it (gently!) off of the sheet metal. Be careful when removing since there is double sided tape on the top edge.
2. The harness for the 3rd brake light will be hanging there right in front of you. Simply disconnect the harness clip.
3. Use duct tape to attach the loose clip to the sheet metal (I learned this the hard way... subwoofer + loose clip = bad rattle).
4. Reattach the trim, pushing the double sided tape area firmly, then putting clips back in.
Hope that helps! It should only take about 10 minutes, and it won't deactivate any other brake lights, just the 3rd one. I prefer this to the 4 brake light look.
By the way, I had my spoiler installed at the dealer, and they never gave me a cover for the 3rd brake light, said it didn't exist and that they didn't know how to turn it off... what a joke, I figured it out in 10 minutes.

Re: New Spoiler
It wasn't too bad to install however, first they did not give me any instructions just two templates which were nothing more then an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper with a drawing on it to line it up on the trunk and where to drill the holes. My advice after taping the templates on measure the distance between where they tell you to drill the holes and the distance between the holes on the spoiler itself. You can be off by a 1/2".
Measure and remeasure until you are sure everything is lined up before drilling that first hole. There is very little room for error.
Good luck!

Re: New Spoiler
Dave,
Picked up my Desert Plat on Thursday, and I'm ready to order the spoiler from infinitiparts.net but don't have the color code. I know I can find it in the engine bay but was wondering if you had it handy?
If you don't see this message before 5pm EST, I guess I'll just have to wait until I get home to order......
Thanks in advance....Andre.
