What is the best Cold Air system?
I am new to this group. I got a G35X last week. The car drives great! I do miss my 325i sport suspension. The suspension on the G35X is a little soft. I will take care of that in the future. I was looking into Cold Air kits and was wondering if anybody out there could suggest the best one. Additionally, will this void my warrentee?

Re: What is the best Cold Air system?
In my opinion, the cold air intake aftermarket mods on this car are a waste of money. The stock box is very good and some people are actually losing HP after removing it and going CAI. An aftermarket unit will be louder and look better, but dont expect big real-world performance gains. Mostly a sitting still dyno gain due to the lack of fresh air in the engine bay. Save your money for the handling mods, you will get more fun from the twisties.

Re: What is the best Cold Air system?
You have the 2 crowds on intake systems. One is behind the stock system. The other is behind long tube CAI's, like the Injen, AEM and Nismo or the Stillen intake system. Go to my350z.com and run a search on intakes and read the arguements and see how you feel. Be carefull to rule out comments that are a posted by those that do not follow ECU resetting guidelines and don't allow for ECU learning curves.

Re: What is the best Cold Air system?
i have a new 5a/t sedan. read the post on all the options and went with a known.(k&n typhoon cai/sr sys.) i can honestly say it's a high quality product, because i added a borla duar exhause sys.(and did the ECU reset) saw a lot of gain. k&n only has a short ram typhoom for now. cost is del.@ less than $190. injen cai is also about$200 and is good also. JWT Pop Chargers w/ a 350Z intake tube would run approx. $190. Stillen has a venturi unit that uses a K&N drop in with a Z tube that will run approx $250. All of these units claim to produce between 5 and 20 HP, but I choose K&N because of reputation, quality and cost. There are comments regarding Hydro Lock, lost HP, lost torque and noise. I am totally happy with my selection and will know more about problems as we get into the Dallas heat and traffic and heavy rain this summer.
Good luck, happy new year and let me know if you have any other questions.
