Valet Parking? Think again.

Valet parked my 06' about a block away. A buddy of mine who was leaving the restaurant told me that the kid who was bringing back my car was pretty much pushing the hell out of it - on a cold engine!

Just wondering, how bad is this for the vehicle?
Water temp. was at about a bar and a half when the car got to me.

Thanks in advance.

maybe if you're driving a pos american car but with an nice asian car it won't have a negative effect. Cars are designed better these days and don't require the warm up time that older models required

I never, never, never let valet touch my car... I would pay for them NOT to park it!

Anyway, it's doubtful that what you described hurt the car - but scratches, dings, stolen items, aggressive driving, etc, etc is enough for me to "just say no" to valet parking.

If anyone thinks they care about your car or take care of it, you are as high as they are while driving your car.

You should have known better. Here's a quick valet story for you. A couple of years ago a group of us went to P. F. Chang's for dinner in Miami. Valet is free there, but I still passed on it. We're waiting outside to be seated when we heard "F*CK!" We turned to see a valet attendant was pinned between 2 cars. He's lucky his legs weren't crushed. His co-worker reversed right into him!

A few weeks ago we were eating there again. And when we were walking back to the car, a Volvo comes flying around the corner (in the parking lot) headed right for my wife and I. He stopped in time though. Guess who was driving...another punk valet kid. If he had even come within an inch of my wife I would have beat him.

Too bad our cars don't limit rev's when the engine is cold.
Even older Prelude's had such type of management...

I actually am a valet on the weekends to make the G payments (the DOT research doesnt cover all the bills) and as much as i dissagree, I must admit your right. I personally dont drive all that agressive, I have but not as much. If you have a nice car IT WILL BE DRIVEN. Usually the drive to the deck is pretty short and even if you have something other than a buick there isnt much time or distance to get in anything more than an aggressive roar to like 5k before your there so most times a car isnt really driven that much. That all being said I always take extreme care not to scratch a car or even put it somewhere that it might be scratched. However I know plenty of the other guys absolutly dont care and they are high about 1/4 the time. Its terrible but true. If you find a decent looking valet expecially a girl and slide them a 10 you are probably going to be taken care of though.

at first i was like WTF... then i remembered leaving work one day.. and a coworker was at the exit light... we both gunned it and the fuel cut off started working... my car was jerking alittle bit and lost the race.

yes there should be some rev limiter when cold implemented on all cars to procted the engine.

Sure it wasn't just your VDC to reduce the wheel spin from gunning it?

But there are some places or events w/ valet parking only. Would you tip a guy when dropping the keys off? ))
