Fender Bender; Help Needed

I met with a minor fender bender last weekend. A Honda Accord coupe hit me from behind when i stopped for a red light. The Honda's front license plate frame made a hole in my rear bumper (lower right). It is a see through hole about 2 to3 inches dia.

Does anyone know how to handle this? Can some bodyshop take care of this. I live in central NJ (New Brunswick) area. Any recommendations? Please advice.

Or is replacing the bumper the only option?. Other than the hole, there are just minor scratches. Otherwise there is no visible damage to the car (Thank God). Does anyone know the cost of the rear bumper?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. My insurance has a $500 deductible. But am pretty confident that the other car's insurance will pay for it as it is 100% his fault (or will fight to death).

I own a body shop.Your bumper can be fixed,if i were going to repair the hole i would probably use fiberglass ,it will adhere to the plastic better than body filler, but if the other person's insurance will pay,i personally would get a new bumper cover.

Do not try to repair the bumper... have it replaced.

There is no reason you should fight for it to be replaced. Don't settle for a repaired bumper.

Re: Fender Bender; Help Needed

I was rear ended a few weeks ago and just got my car back.
I was hit by a Subaru at a complete stop and her insurance company agreed it was their driver's fault.
No deductible came out of my pocket and they put me into a nice X-Type for a few days. They did a "perfect" job and I cannot tell any discoloration! They even wrote a check for my "Giants" frame which was about $35.00. Get an estimate and claim it with the Accord's insurance carrier.

Keep us posted!

Thank you for all your comments/help. Was out of town for a few days. Will do as advised (claim from the Honda Accord insurance) and keep the forum posted.
