Rear seat removal..

Hey folks. I'm about to install an amp in the trunk compartment and I was planning on following this DIY for the cable routing..Satellite Install. In the document it mentions removal of the rear seat. I have the premium package with the reclining rear seats. I didnt see that mentions in the article.

Does anyone know if that would pose a problem or if I need to procede differently removing the seat. Also if you have any advice on the mounting of the amp in the trunk I would appreciate it. I'll probably be installing it to the back of the trunk wall. Thanks..and Happy New Year!

Re: Rear seat removal..

To remove the seat bottom, you just pull out on the 2 plastic loops, about 1/4 way in from both sides on the bottom front of the seat. To remove the seat backs with the premium package, remove the 2 14mm bolts holdin the seat located next to the door side, then go to the center and remove 1 14mm bolt at the bottom and 1 14mm nut about 6" up and to the left(between the seat and the center arm rest) You should then be able to lift out the seat back.
I mounted my amp (JL500/5) to the rear of the back seat. It is very easy to do once you get the seats out.
