As a follow up to a recent thread I need to identify the COWL to fix a creak at the base of my windshield. Can anybody describe it? Is it the black moulding (2 pieces) running along the windshield base that is attached with a number of plastic clips and two bolts?

 

It's the big black part at the base of the windshield. What are you looking for? Part numbers?

 

No, I am planning to install a piece of felt or foam where the cowl is bolted to try to stop a cracking sound coming from this area when the car goes over bumps; even some very small ones. Sounds like the windshield is 'cracking' or 'popping'. Very annoying.
