That is not a bad idea. I think I may do the shave and repaint but have him paint the lip at the same time. I don't have to put it on and can always sell it. He will paint it for free as long as it is at the same time as the trunk.

I heard the ebay ones were crap. I would like to find an oem BMW one if possible. Maybe that one could be ok.

I like the OEM spoiler over the lip. Lip looks too small for the car or something. Just doesn't balance out. I say either OEM or similar, or none at all.

But I'm biased...I have OEM on my 05 sedan.

I didn't know those fit directly on. Hell, if they do I would get those instead. Where can you buy them and for how much $$$?

I thought that one was a little too wide?

The bottom pic in my first post is the oem M3. The only place I know is the dealer or a used one. I have a friend with an E46 M3 that just changed to the CF trunk lid. I was going to see if he will sell me his.

i'd go with the bigger UTR lip Tim. The M3 is smaller than the roof spoiler and IMO that would look really wierd. The UTR would be perfect.

Go for the UTR. I just bought an OEM M3 trunk lip, but I dont think I'm going to put it on. I see too many cars running around with those ebay M3 lips...even though mine is real, it just doesnt stand out anymore...

That's true, the M3-style is common these days. Maybe I will leave it as-is and put the money toward a set of track wheels and tires. Hmmmmm

I like your set up you have now Tim. I gotta agree with Grant that if you go with a lip I would go with the UTR with your roof spoiler.

The lip looks nice on the two light cars, makes them look real classy. I think the OEM compliments the aggressiveness of your car better. If you want a real change, just trade me for the summer!

And dammit you need to get a buffer on that rear end! That's gotta be the view most people are seein!
