Tint on silver cars looks no different. IMO, you'll be safe with 30 front/20 rear in Kansas and also in Florida where you go to school. The trick is finding a place that will go beyond the legal tint limit in Kansas City. Most shops will do it, but you will not get a reciept. I got Tint Master to do mine. He puts a small Tint Master sticker in the window to signify that he did the work. If it ever fails at anytime, he replaces it. He does commerical buildings for work, but he does autos out of his garage. He charges about $180 for a sedan with a 10% brow across the front. You can hang out with him while he does the work. It takes about an hour.

I don't like blacked out windows because I think it looks cheesy, but a 30/20 brings in enough light to see inside on a sunny and doesn't impede backing up, etc. Also keep in mind that tint does fade over time and 35% will get pretty light within about a year or so. I had 35% on all my prior cars and they lightened up a bit too much after about 5 years.

If the cars interior is a lighter color, like tan or light grey, the tint will look much lighter than a car with black/charcoal interior. So its best to ask what interiors they have as well.
