Thread back from the dead. Looking for an answer

Does anyone know how many holes are underneath the door moldings and the placement of the holes?

Specifically the 03/04 sedans

Thanks in advance.

im thinking 4 holes to hold them in place.. almostl iek small tabs. the body shop would then ahve to fill in the molding slots which is a nightmare -- make sure there are no waves in the door when they do so

Slots? Oh man, I had no idea about the slots. I thought it was just the holes.

I'll have to run that by him.

Thanks for the info mayor.

There were no slots on my doors. Just the two holes on each door.

sorry i just remembered there aren't slots -- just holes. i quickly looked at a M that is getting worked on.

we had one issue last year the factory installed black moldings on a twilight blue G35x and we had to replace them... holes are not big that hold the molding in place-- just a lot of tape

Thanks again for the Mayor. You scared me for a second

I'm going to be removing the moldings but it will have to wait. I wanted to get it done before HIN but I just got my rear BBK in and orderd a front camber kit last night...just not feeling like layin out the cash again right now. I have some chips I need repaired on each side and I will basically need each side resprayed to remove the moldings and do the repairs.

For now, just a new grill and door handles to match. I won't be removing the handles either.

Wow. That really is terrible. The front end kit is not bad but the gap between the hood and the grille makes it all look cheap and thrown together. The side skirts look tacked on instead of being cleanly integrated into the car. The rear doesn't look all that good from that side shot either. In the end what really kills it is the gap between the hood and the grille, but most of all those side sills. The kit simply looks like tacked on crap. Like you couldn't figure out what to do with the side of the car or that kit was all you could afford at the time.

One thing I do like though is your taste in wheels. At least the sets in the last two shots. I always thought those SE-R wheels looked dope. Those 5 spokes in the other shots are some nice looking wheels as well.

Sadly, I have to agree with Bruddah from HI. The side sills do not flow with the design of the car. They look like square blocks attached to the side. Just looks like an afterthought. Oh well, to each his own.
