unrevised z springs installed: more road noise?

Overall I like my unrevised z springs -- handling, ride, look. But am I imagining this -- more road noise, a drone, that increases with speed? Maybe the shorter springs transfer more noise to the cabin. Or that plus the mediocre Goodyear RS-A's that came with the car.

Has anybody noticed increased noise with the unrevised z springs? I'm thinking different tires would cure it. Maybe some DS-G3 Goodyears, which are pretty quiet as I remember. The RS-A's only have about 3000 miles. Maybe Goodyear will trade them out for better tires...

Since the chassis is lowered, more noise is transfered through the wheel wells. Right now I'm trying to figure out a way to use the tar-covered carpet material newer cars are using in the wheel wells to combat road noise. My buddy's A6 4.2 and all my 07 Altima rentals use the material.

If you just want to add more damping to the wheel wells you can use a few coats of that spray undercoating from 3M.

To follow up on my original post, the loud drone wasn't the tires or new springs -- it was a bad right front wheel bearing. Infiniti replaced whole hub assembly under warranty and the drone is gone. I was surprised they didn't claim the bearing failure was due to the z springs, but they didn't even mention them.
