It's not a scratch but a big black mark - what is it?
Sorry don't have pics because I cleaned it as soon as I saw it.
Well I work in an extremely professional place - world renowned banks and financial institutions etc and we have a fairly large underground parking lot with ample space for each car. So the below happening is rare but rather fcked up of the person who did it and didnt even bother leaving a note or something
My bad (rule of thumb if u have a nice car - park away or in the corner) - because there were three spots and I parked in the middle spot. There were no cars on either side at the time and I parked perfectly in the centre of my spot. Next time though ill park away in the corner as if my car has been exiled!!!
Anyways on my way home, as i was about to enter my car i saw three to four black lines on my door. all near the door handle and one on the handle. So what did i do? first, lol put some saliva on the mark and tried to rub it off. it worked so i got a rag from my trunk, wet it a bit with water and wiped off the marks.
Now there aren't any black marks left except a tiny spot but im **** about that. I have the feeling its someones door because a bumper would do more damage.
Anyone have this before? IP color is gorgeous but the marks stand out
Oh and i think to get over my constant paranoia about such events ill get a camera monitoring system - anyone have ideas

true. i have shotgun riders who sometime kick the door panel near the speaker on their way out and that leaves a black mark. Similarly I can wipe that mark off with a tissue or wet rag.
But this was on the outside near my door handle. Either someone did it on purpose or someone fell out of their 4x4.

Yeah I was gonna guess shoe rubber, especially since you work in a suit environment like myself. I've scuffed up my own car with dress shoes getting in and out a few times, door handle is a bit rediculous though. Maybe a sexual encounter on the side your car????
I could have been a plastic panel from another car. Plastic can leave black marks on the car. Someone smashed my mirrors off of a car that I had for a couple of months when I was in Japan, and the bottom of the mirrors were plastic and they left black marks that were easy to get off, just like what you are explaining. So my guess is that it was plastic molding on a car door. That's the only time I've owned a light colored car, so my only experience in this matter.

It was on base, some jealous punk had smashed multiple car mirrors with a road cone. The base police did jack squat about it.
On a side note, I did have Japanese kids put snot all over mine and my friends Skylines. Only on the Skylines with Y plates. If you had a normal car, then nothing. If it had a kanji plate, then nothing, but a Y plate + skyline and snot rockets w/ tissue on your windows. At least they put it in a place that was easily cleaned. But it was a daily problem and I never caught the fvck.
