Impala SS. Supercharged 3.8 liter.
MSRP 31K with $3500 rebate and $750 Military Appreciation Discount.
And it should be illegal for American service members to own a foreign made car. Just Kidding, but it does seem like you're a little enamored with euro cars.

The '96 Impala SS was a good car. This new thing they have out makes me cringe, and can't even think of competing with Infiniti or BMW.

Re: G35x or new 5 series
Greetings ky_soldier,
I am also an avid BMW fan. We have an X5, which my wife drives primarily, I have a 2003 G35 auto. I was too impatient to wait for 6 speed. My sister in law has a 328i which I have driven on many occasions and on long distance trips.
Referring to the driving experience, the G35 is a surefooted handling machine. It has an amazing amount of torque and predictable strong brakes. When agressively driven into turns there is virtually NO body roll. Having driven the 3 and 5 series Beemers, this is an important attribute.
The BMW will have a more refined interior, you expect that for the money, but the G35 is a damn fun car to drive. The horsepower, the torque, the comfort of the steering wheel to the very nice driver's seat. I love my G and finally
Your wife will enjoy a G35X and more importantly so WILL YOU.

Re: G35x or new 5 series
I used to own an older 5 series, 535i and it was a great car, fun to drive, very quick and well balanced, recently when shopping for a new car I took a look at the new 5, I was not impressed, aside of the huge price, the interior is very GM like (sorry folks) and the exterior is very..... Overall the ride is very nice, but with age the soul and athletism of the older BM is gone and replaced by a much heavier car a great performer, a powerlifter even, but not the fine sinewy athlete of before, dare I say Ive aged 15 years too. So I went with the G35 6mt and have been very happy - its got more of the spirit of the older BMs, its more athletic and overall a fine car - this is not a compromise!!. On the other hand the G is still a social wannabe, two people pull up at the country club one in a BMW545 and one in a G35.....
