Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

I got the same problem. The only thing that seems to help is to keep the AC on even in the cold. The AC will help condense some, but not much, of the moisture coming in.

Try not breathing ... seriously all cars fog up this is not a G35 problem... I think you can buy a product called FogX... same company that makes RainX ... not sure if it works or not

The heater works better but you end up sweating so bad that when you get out you like you went swiming

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

Hi, All - Just a couple of suggestions on this topic from the owner's manual: 1) Don't run the A/C on recirculate setting for extended periods as this may cause interior window fogging, and 2) Fogging may be the result of a clogged in-cabin microfilter. Hope this helps! Regards, Skiv

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

what I have found is to set the HVAC to fresh air for about 2 minutes before I shut the car off. That way when I start it up in the I don't get that fogging up on the windshield

It helps a lot to keep the windows clean. They might appear to be clean but I would bet they have a film on them.

Whatever you do, don't use Fog-X. While Rain-X is the nectar of the Gods, Fog-X is Devils ****. That stuff is junk and is a ***** to get off after you apply it.

I found that Fog-X makes the widows streaky looking and seems to get dirty faster. Stopped using it except on my bathroom mirrors years ago.

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

I've noticed severe fogging on many vehicles on the road in the past. It's related to keeping your ventilation system set on "recirculate". Without fresh air circulation, your exhaled humidified air goes repeatedly through the circuit and condenses on the windows. It becomes even more obvious in the dry, cold winter months which encourages the warm humidified cabin air to condense on the inside of the cold windows. Use your ventilation system on "fresh air" and it will make a huge difference. Using A/C On will also help but puts an unnecessary strain on the system. You've got plenty of outside dry air to reduce the in cabin humidity - use it!

The only caveat - when you're trying to heat your cabin quickly in cold weather, using recirculate for a short time allows the air to heat more quickly. Once your engine is warm, switch to outside air and it will be plenty warm enough.

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

Well, with the G, the a/c is always on, works the heat and cooling, is that not right? I shut mine off completely sometimes, but even when you have it on "manual, it still says A/C. Do I just not understand how this system works?

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

You're right - the G35 system always defaults to A/C 'on'. I'm not sure why they did that. It doesn't make much sense. Using the A/C frequently uses more energy and decreases mileage - and it's not really necessary in dry conditions. On the other hand, if you never use the A/C, the compressor doesn't stay lubed and loses some efficiency. Seems that moderate use would be appropriate.

However, you CAN turn off the A/C. I turn it off all the time in manual or auto mode. You can let the "auto" control the temp and fan but just turn off the A/C or you can turn it to A/C Econ to use less energy with the A/C. I prefer fresh outside air with A/C off most times.

Re: G35 Sedan Fogging up

Oh, but whenever I increase the fan speed, the AC comes on, I haven't tried Econ mode, maybe that's the difference!
