Hey guys, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself!

I have an 03 base sedan. You can see in the pictures below, but the Infiniti certainly qualifies as base. No leather, no power seats, no sunroof, 16's, no NAV, and an automatic.

I've added clear corners, a Ztube, an Amsoil dry filter, MD 1/2" basic spacer, and Silverstar bulbs for the lows. For my next mod, I'm looking into a coupe midpipe for some more sound, or maybe a technosquare reflash. Someone backed into my front bumper, and it's a little scratched up, so maybe I'll have to look into a replacement. Exhaust will come later.

Just wanted to introduce myself! This place has already helped me a lot.

Welcome aboard.

Since you are looking into replacing your front bumper anyways, you may want to consider the Aero (Nismo) front bumper. Adds a more aggressive look to the sedan. Do a search

My what a big center Arm rest you have.

 

I wish the 6MT armrest was taller like the 5AT one.

 

ha, the arm rest is quite nice. i'm just afraid it's going to get dirty.

does anyone know if base models are lighter than their more luxurious counterparts?

I think new 07 5AT has a tiny armrest compartment as well. Although, I think it is still just as tall, just not as long.

Well, I had a VR6 and there was no mod that was bang for your buck on that engine. The CAI was the cheapest, and it made a noticeable difference in power, esp. in the mid range, while providing a nice change in the induction sound. But overall, I'd start with a chip. While it only adds about 10hp on a VR6 it gives the car better throttle response, it takes away some of the flat spots across the rev range, it makes the gas pedal feel a little heavier (for me this was a good thing), and it takes away the top speed limiter and moves the redline to 7200. In addition, there is a nice gain in power when it's mated with a CAI, and having a chip allows for bigger gains in power for every new mod you add. Also, if one plans on adding cams, there is a specific file that can be used form GIAC. As a side note, on the 1.8t engine, this is by far the best bang for buck mod (+around 40hp).
