Question for anyone who has debadged the G

I recently debadged my sedan and ran into a little bit of a problem. On the back you can still see where the g35 emblem used to be. Its not the tape I got all of that off but its like the paint is two diffrent colors. Its really driving me crazy im thinking about just putting the g35 back on. Has anyone else has this problem? If so what can I do to make it look good. Thanks

looks like two different paints? sounds strange but nothing a nice wax couldn't fix... try a light rubbing compound first, but dont be too agressive. If that does not work then I don't have any other solutions.

Wash area, clay bar area and then wax.

ditto...however with a black car that is now 3 years or so old the paint has faded a bit and there is not much you can do about that

It will look light two different paints because after two years of being exposed to weather and the environment, the black paint not covered by the emblems has faded. Where the badges were is darker, right? You can use rubbing compound to feather or blend the two areas together, that's your best bet, short of re-painting.

Wash, wax and buff. This will get the "shadow" off. I had the same problem as well after I debadged mine.

My car lived outside for the first 2 years of life and I see no shadow after debaging.

I think its a bigger problem for black cars, since it provides the ultimate contrast.

Thanks for all the replies I will try some rubbing compound and see if that helps. If not maybe i'll just but the g35 back on.

... Or you can always paint the emblem black if you don't like it debadged. It looks as good on OB.
