Felt Cloth Tape for Rattle fix?

I've searched the forum but haven't had much luck. I'm trying to find some felt cloth tape to take care of the typical window and dash creak TSB's. Anyone hear know of a place that sells decent quality felt tape? My dealer told me that that the infiniti stuff is cheap and that I'd be better off buying it elsewhere.

I've checked those places along with a few craft stores with no luck. I was hoping someone would post a link to an online store.

I don't have any online links but I bought a felt pad from Walmart. It was in the hardware section where they sell the protective pads to put on furniture legs and so forth.

I used this for the rear view mirror and it worked ok.

Yes they do...home depot DOES. It's not felt "Tape".....go buy a small package of the felt rectangles that you can custom cut, that are used for putting on the feet of furniture to protect hardwood floors...that's what I used & it worked.

Wherever applicable according to the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for your year/model.

For example the 2004 Coupe information is here

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Bulletin...upe/2004/1.htm

If you have a coupe select the year from the links across the top of the page. If you have a sedan select the link to the left.

I take it your car is out of warranty... if not, Infiniti should do it free, they did mine (window TSB).

Otherwise, just go to the dealer service department and ask a tech (or parts guy) directly if they will give you some - they gave me some thin rubber tape that works great for center consol plastic on plastic buzz/vibration. I’m sure they’d give you the felt pads too… if not they don’t care about you as a customer… The materials cost them virtually nothing (for the amount you need).

Edit: the "rubber tape" isn’t really tape, it's super thin rubber (thinner than a credit card) that has adhesive on the back. Perfect for vibration rattle & buzzes.

felt tape is used around the window and door for the home, it comes in a roll, maybe you didnt look in the right place at homedepot.

you don't really need a roll for the window TSB... just a few short pieces.

i had the rattles on my pass door. i couldnt find the felt tape either. i just used a couple pieces of duct tape on the flanges. no more rattles.

you could stick anything on there. anything to stop the plastics from hitting each other.
