radiator problem HELP
this didn't happen to my G, but my sis needs help asap.
my sister's FX 35 shut down on the frwy 2 nights ago. She said the car just sputtered and shut off long enough for her to get to the side of the road. Her temp gauge didn't go up nor were there any smoke from her hood. Glendale Infiniti said she needed a new radiator and hoses and would cost $1800. Does this seem right or fishy? I thiink 1800 is too damn much for a radiator and hoses. And maybe it isn't even her radiator bc she said the temp gauge never went up.
Do you all think that maybe the ecu detected the problem and shut the car down b4 the radiator had a chance to blow? Any help will be helpful
thanks.

That sounds like total BS. If the FX was going to overheat she would have seen the temp go up and the overflow should have started smoking. Also $1,800 for a radiator and hoses installed it RAPE, even for a dealer. Something else must be wrong.
