I still LOVE driving this car!
I still LOVE driving this car!
First, thanks for all of the helpful information I have gotten from members on this site. You have helped me to learn an unreal amount of information about my car and how to approach DIY projects that I would never have had the confidence to do otherwise.
With all of the negative threads about the G's various short-comings, I thought it was about time for some props to the G. I bought my 2005 5AT sedan 1 1/2 years ago with 19k miles on it and never looked back.
I added tint, rims/tires, a 350Z intake and suspension, grounding kit, a plenum spacer, and an M3 lip spoiler on the back. That's all I have planned for this car.
Every time I get into this car I am excited. As I walk towards it, I can't help but break into a big $hit-eating grin. I love the exterior's look. It reminds me of a muscle-bound sprinter about to take fly off of the starting blocks. I can't help but stare at its reflection in store windows as I drive by. The stock exhaust give a nice rumble as I start it up, but not too loud as to drown out the radio or drone. The torque is ready in any gear. It frequently catches me off guard as it chirps a second or gets a little sideways with the pedal depressed only 1/2 way down ( yes, in an automatic). I love any chance to merge into fast moving traffic at WOT or zip by a slower car. Compared to my Maxima, this car is a rocket.
I never street race or hit the track, but I have found a great road for spirited driving. Every Thursday at 11 am, I have to drive 50 miles to another office.
I can take the interstate all the way or a shortcut through the local farmlands for 20 miles of the trip. This drive has lots of flat, 1-2 mile straights and twisty banked S turns. The road is completely deserted at this time of day. My biggest concern is an animal wandering into the road.
The car has delivered everything I had hoped for and more. I look forward to the next big engine upgrade for the sedan and will be saving my $$$ for it until then.

Here here. I love mine too. Sure, it has it's issues, but I still love it. I'm 32 and still don't feel deserving on such a nice used car. People in my office (engineers making $70-120K) think I make a lot of money because I drive a G35. Little do they understand that I paid $25K for this car over 2.5 years ago and looks/performs a hell of a lot better than their new $25-40K Ford Fusions, Camrys, F150s, etc.
Yours won't chirp because you have to build up boost again! I could spin 3rd all day long with my car before the TT, not it takes off and then breaks loose once the boost builds up.
