ok i own a 04 maxima se 5spd auto my friend just picked up an 04 TL 5spd auto and my cousin has a ifiniti g35 coupe... my friend in the tl hasnt ran his car at the track yet but he did gtech it at a 14.8.. i think he's good for a 14.6 stock.. my cousin in his bone stock auto g35 coupe without an oil change since 3000 miles now has 20,000 got a 14.3 at 99 mph stock.."dont worry hes gotten one since the track oil change i mean" now i have a 04 maxima se 5 spd automatic bone stock and the heviest out of the 04's i got the elite pachage rana best so far of 14.48.. i avg 14.5s and 14.6s but i think i can pull a better time.. ive driven the tl although it doesnt seem as fast as my max but im sure it is.. the max and the g have tourqe to get it up and go off the line "which is very hard" in my max without spinning the crap out of the tires and running 15s, like i did the first time i went, 60 ft 2.6s and a 15.2 1/4.. im getting better best 60ft so far is a 2.18.. the tl probably has more grunt from like 75 to 95 and lags again.. thats my out look, all three cars are very very close.. the new maxima isnt slow its bigger and hevier but not slower, than the 02 and 03s the only reason why i know is ive driven an 03 maxima and an 04 "mine" my 04 feels faster not by much though..and ive seen 02 and 3s run at the track.. the 5spd auto gearing plays a big role.. oh yeah my brother has an 03 acura cl-type s again 5spd auto and with just intake runs 14.5s all day.. oh yeah one more thing the best time so far for a 04 maxima se 6spd on maxima.org stock is a 14.39.. i think they could do better since my auto did a 14.4. and the SL maxima has the 4spd auto which makes it exactley like the 03 max but 300 pnds heviar."look at the rims and the back for sl next time u race a maxima: lol its all in the gearing of the 04 max SE 5spd auto.. thats my view point.. sorry so long guys all three great cars!!!!!!

 

I finally read the article in C&D (March issue) today! The C&D website also has the article but does not have the tables and charts. The G35 did 0-60 in 6.3 s while the TL took 5.8s. However the G was faster to 100 and to 120. I think it was a balanced article overall.
BTW Intellichoice gave an "excellent" value rating to the G35 2004 6MT sedan. They had given a "below average" rating to the 2003 sedan (base auto). I was quite frustrated that so many of the magazines and e-zines did not bother to do a complete review of the 2003.5 6MT sedan when it came out. They are all singing a different tune now that the 6MT sedans have been around for a year. Even Edmunds had only a so-so review of the 2003 model, it is much more positive for 2004. Even their "True Cost to Own" (which is comparable to the Intellichoice ratings) is much better for the 2004 model than for the 2003. The cost per mile is around $0.53 which is the lowest among comparable cars (matched by IS300, which is a smaller, less powerful, and less expensive car).
The long and the short of it is that the G35 is a great choice for the left as well as the right side of the brain!
