How does the tire pressure sensor work?

My tps light has been occasionally turning on but my tires are not low on air. How do these things work?

Thanks for your help!

It reads the pressure and alerts you when they get below a value. I believe it is 28psi. Your tires may get close to that, what pressure do you have in them (cold).

Well my first experience with tire presssure sensor light goes like this,

Light comes on,honey take out the manual and tell me what this "exclamation point" light means.
