2003 TRANNY BLOWN after Dealer Service

I took my 03 G35 Sedan with 160KM in for rust warranty repair on all four doors. Also got my compression rod replaced. After 11 days of service I picked my baby up. I drove 100 miles and noticed smoke coming from the car while I pulled into the gas station for a fill up. I looked under the car and noticed ATF flowing out where the tranny meets the engine. I couldnt believe my eyes. Right after that the tranny started to slip. I took it back today to the dealer and they told me I need a new tranny. My question is has anyone had a tranny leak like this with so low KM'S. My 92 civic tranny has over 400 Km's, and the fluid is still clean. PLEASE HELP me fall in love with my G again!

I've seen them leak with low miles & I've seen them never leak. Sometimes it just happens.

some people would probably refer to your car as a "monday car"

hehe some people like to say that cars made and built on monday end up the worst..sorry to hear that though

They had a tough time removing the old compression rod, is it posssible that they could have damaged my tranny?

if they did...they sure as hell are not going to admit it..sorry...but unless they are the most honest people around...( i know right? honest and dealer are like synonymous) they would rather say its your fault..

I knew a guy who worked at a ford factory and he said that monday , friday , and sometimes wednsday cars were the worst so you have a 40% chance of getting a good car.

Sorry to hear about your trans, I'm not sure what a compression rod is but I'm guessing thats its parts of your auto trans, if it is and your dealer was messin with it I'de raise holy hell with them , this has to be their fault. Good luck!

These guys owe you BIG TIME!

A test drive after every single service should be automatic, for what they charge!

Great "looking" car,but Infiniti has to learn,"word spreads".

Take it to a transmission specialist and get a second opinion. I get the impression that if anything is wrong the dealer say that you need a new transmission. The specialist may tell you that you just need a new seal.

Have you checked to make sure the tranny filler cap/dipstick is secure? Having automatic tranny fluid leak out like that is quite odd. The tranny most likely slipped because of the lack of fluid.

The dealer called me today and said they found a used 20000 Km tranny from a 05. They want $2200 in total, what you guys think? The best thing about all this is they gave me 06 for the mean time, I love the keyless, and I mean KEYLESS.

If you have to pay for a new trans, that sounds to me like a fair price. However, it is really werd that the trans munched it right after the service visit.

On a side now, I also own a 03 Sedan with > 130KM. Correct me if I'm wrong, that means our cars have rust warranty up to 160000KM? Reason I'm asking is because all four of my door side panels are rusted.

Sc.
