Hi everyone,
I just test drove the G35x and love it. I think I will get rid of my GTP and buy a G35x.
However I have one question. During my test drive, I noticed the RPM's at 3000 and I was only going 125-130km/hr. My GTP rev's at 2200 (even in very cold temperatures) at this speed. The G35x that I drove had only 10 km on it and it was very cold that particular day.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? Is it because it was a new car? Does the G35x have inferior gas consumption compared to the G35?
thanks
dave

This is normal. My G35X, fully warmed, at 3000 RPM is traveling 79.5 MPH (which is 127.2 km/hr). I don't know what a GTP is, but I have a feeling there the gearing of the transmission makes it run at only 2200 RPM at 125-130 km/h (The G35X's 5th gear is 0.83:1 - I'm guessing that the gear ratio is lower for the top gear for the GTP hence the lower RPM at 125-130 km/h).

Just the gearing ratios. The G probably has a shorter ratio for better acceleration over fuel economy.
