When the bulb goes out does that also mean it wont keep track of time? Mine isnt even showing the right time

Damn, so who should I take it to to find out why the clock isnt working? I dont want to get raped at the stealership

mine went out too... i went to fry's electronics and bought "grain of wheat" bulbs and replaced them myself. way cheaper than going to the stealership.

Since we dont have that store around here what would match that store something like radio shack?

i see a few people on here have replaced the bulbs themselves...is that process REALLY hard to do? i'm not trying to pay the dealer $100 to replace a freaking bulb but i don't want to mess anything up.

It took 2 minutes for me. Literally. Pulled the plastic around the clock/compass panel towards you. then there was 2 phillips head screws holding the clock in. Once you pull the clock out, disconnect the plug and the back of the bulb is a phillips bit. counter clockwise to undo. Pu the new bulb in and reverse steps.

Is there no DIY for this?

Maybe I'll write one up with pics....

the hardest part was getting that plastic around the clock/ac display to come off. i used a piece of cardboard, slipped it behind and pulled toward me (not up).

I got these LED replacements - 2 Blue, 2 Amber and 2 white. I figured since I was going to order them over the Internet, I might as well keep some options. I haven't installed them yet so I'm still not sure what colour to go with.

I got mine from Autolumination.com, this page: http://autolumination.com/74.htm They don't have wires one them. I don't know what the lights from Digital1986 are for, but they won't go in an 03 clock?!?!

They are grain of the wheat and they worked fine for me. They are installed my clock has light and is working!

The ones you have might be brighter though, did you get type A, B, or C?
