Timimg Belt Squealing
Timimg Belt Squealing
For The Past 4 Days Now I've Been Hearing The Most Annoying Squealing Noise Coming From The Front Of My Car (03' G35 Sedan) Im Pretty Sure Its My Timing Belt. I Sprayed Some Soap Water On The Belt While It Was Running And The Noise Stopped So I'm Pretty Sure Its The Belt. I Noticed Some Tiny Cracks Across The Grooves Of The Belt. Any Idea On How Difficult It Would Be To Change It Myself? Would I Have To Take Off The Bumper? If I Couldn't Do It Myself Any Idea On How It Much Would It Cost If I Took It To The Dealer As Opposed To Taking It To A Certified Garage. Also Any Idea On Where The Tensioner Is Located. The Car Has About 37k Miles On It.
Please Help...thanks

+1 there is no timing belt in this car, is uses a chain. It's definitely another belt!. Either replace the belt or put some oil on it for the time being until you replace it to get rid of the squeek
The belt needs to be tightened. There's no need to replace the belt unless the ribs are flaking off. Cracked ribs are entirely fine. Do a search and you'll find a DIY for replacing/tightening the belts. It's very simple.
