40K maintenance schedule

Ok guys, just called my local dealer and asked aboutthe 40K service, they said I should have done it at 30k, so I asked what it would entail etc. bottom line is they are telling me $550- for a 30k service, any thoughts? This seems a little heavy to me.

Not as high as what I've seen. You could save $ and change the oil and filter, air filter, in cabin air filter, and wipers by yourself.

that's not bad, it's over $800 here in Cali. Try the Nissan dealer, you'll probably get a better deal, also the 30K servide includes a ridicuous amount of inspections that do nothing for you but they will charge you 2.5 hours of the techs time to do them (probably takes them 20 minutes), so nix all of those, just get done what needs to get done.

I need to take my car in too for 30K service. I called Two Infiniti Dealerships here in Southern Cali (Metro & Tustin). They each quoted me $600.00+. So someone here told me to PM HERI@WestconvinaNissan and he said he can do it for $300.00. So I am hoping to bring my car in there sometime next weekend.

i think thats what i'm going to do also, but its like a 20-40 min drive from where i live. i also called cerritos infiniti. i THINK he quoted me at around the same price but most likely more. he told me that loaner is included and will be done in 4 hours. but i called a long while ago.

For the people that have done the milestone services at Nissan dealer, do you just call them and tell them I have a G35 and need the 30k or 60k or whatever service? Since they don't have your car in their system unlike Infiniti, they would just write down your name/make/model?

I know our parts are the same as Nissans but if everyone just brings their G35 to Nissan and get the service for half price, wouldn't Nissan be smart enough to start charging extra?

I will be doing 30k miles probably next year and really thinking about going to Nissan dealers instead.

I think I spent around $160 or so on the tranny fluid, mobile1 oil and filter, redline racing differential fluid. My mechanic charged me $40 to change the fluids. I'll probably do it myself next time.

Nissan J-matic tranny fluid is expensive (~$10?/bottle), but it is also really the only thing you NEED to get as authentic Nissan. For everything else, you can find high quality synthetic replacements (AMSoil, Redline, Motul, etc etc)
