SCHNAPPED OFF a Mustang..
Yeah, not a WHOLE lot to brag about, but I took 1.5s off my ET over the last time I ran. The mustang looked pretty new, and was only a 4.0 V6, but I was happy.
Only ran twice. First time he got me by .1 off the tree (My reaction time was stupid slow at like .833), but I gained on him over the 1/4, and he ended up beating me by .03s... (Dang it!)
Got lucky the second time. Just happened to line up next to him again, and he had been pushing his car through the line with the hood open. I had my hood open for a little while, but thank goodness for the DVD player. Staging took forever.
Finally got to the track, did a little burnout to sticky up the tires. He pulled RIGHT up to the tree, and I could hear him on his gas pedal gettin' ready. This time I was ready, and could have left early, but I didn't want to red light. TOTALLY left him sitting at the tree. Got the jump on him by half a second, and he got a good look at my tail lights as I pulled away.
I ended up running a 14.726 @ 93.56mph, and he musta known that he got SCHNAPPED OFF by the G, cuz he ended up running a 16.2 when he ran a 15 flat the previous time.
On the way back, he picked up his slip, and started heading back to staging. I followed, but parked instead, and as I was parking, he sped off and left the track. He knew he got OWNED by the 14 second G. LMAO!
All in all, a good night. There was a ridiculous bronco out there running low 10's, and pickin the tires up about a foot in the air and carrying them through about the 60' line.
Next up, gotta install the cams (I know, I know, they should have already been in!) and get a TurboXS and a tune! Maybe a month from now I'll hit the 13's.

nice, when i saw this thread i was like "**** not another low poster putting up a street racing story" lol
mustang gt's arent very fast, at the local track around here most of em could barely break the 14's and if they did its like a 14.8 or 9
nice run and story

Hahaha... Yeah, I keep my drag racing at the track... I don't need to be givin' the police around here any reason to be lookin' at my car!
Not bad for a tired V6 with just over 105,000 miles on it!

Funny side story, while I was changing the 20's out for the 18's before heading to the track, my buddy who I went with (the same one that was there when I ran a 16.2 bone stock with 300lbs of speakers) wanted me to make a prediction.
So I said "I'll bet I run a 14.7."
He said "You're smokin' crack. I bet 15.5. No one in their life has ever taken 1.5s off their ET from just an intake and exhaust. I will $hit in my hand and rub it all over my body if you run a 14.7"
As I'm picking up my timeslip (no idea on the time), I get a text message that reads "But I don't WANT to rub $hit all over myself!!!"
Maybe not that funny just reading it, but he's got a 10 second 98 Firebird, so he knows how to go quick, and he's trying to get me into going fast. I still think I'm more into the nice comfy ride of the G though.

" WFC X Paul's High Performance's V6 Mustang!
May 23, 2007
Before the iron can even grow cold, more exciting news from the crew at Paul’s High Performance! Continuing to crank up the excitement with their Vortech-powered V6 Mustang, Paul Svinicki, the main man behind PHP, happily reported that the little red Mustang they affectionately refer to as ‘Lil 6’, ran solid 10’s all weekend long to latch down a quarter-final finish at the 10th Anniversary of the World Ford Challenge!
Moving ahead now with intense suspension tuning to get the most from their Vortech-powered production V6, Svinicki asserted that Lil’ 6 can no longer be denied its status as a true 10-second car, with the amount of 10-second passes under its belt extending well into the double digits! "The Vortech blower, the car, the whole system continues to just perform phenomenally for us," commented Svinicki.
Perhaps more exciting still is the fact that since our last report on the PHP V6 Mustang, driver Scott Baumgartner, has now reset the best ET for the car to a neat and clean 10.80 at 125 mph—leaving the prospect of 10.70’s lurking just around the bend! "I think this proves beyond a doubt that this car’s performance is not a fluke," said Svinicki. "It seems to be attracting more attention and drawing bigger crowds everywhere we go."
For more on the progress of ‘Lil 6’ stayed tuned to www.vortechsuperchargers.com. To see this story in video with PHP’s own Paul Svinicki, and Vortech’s head of performance marketing, Ricky Best, be sure to check out our online TV channel at www.vortechsuperchargerstv.com! "

This car has NEVER been fast... Let's just put that out there from the start. Lol. When I bought it, it was burning a quart of oil about every tank of gas. Used that Restore stuff, and some Bardahls No Smoke, and been running 15W-40 Rotella, and hasn't burned a drop since! I'm gonna guess the tranny is a bit tired as well... I'll believe it when I see it for the 14.2's and 14.3's out of the stock G's. As for me, cams are going in over T-day weekend, and the weekend after I might throw a 50 shot on it.
Maybe I'll be down to the 14.2's then Lol...

Hmm... Must be that mine is just slow.
Not for long though.... Decided I needed a little extra UMPH... SO, I bought a Nitrous Express wet EFI kit.
Who wants to go to Firebird again this coming Friday?
