I like my Injen cai and coupe midpipe, but I'll prolly look into getting an HKS rear section sometime eventually

Wow, these are great suggestions fellas. I think I'll look into the Stillen intake, exhaust and the 5/16th spacer.

What would the estimated HP gains be from this? Would it have the '04 sedan exceeding 300 HP?

EDIT: another Q. Can the Coupe midpipe be combined with the Stillen exhaust system?

Not sure about the stillen true dual. and with all that you should probably expect maaaybe 20 hp, so no you wont exceed 300. plus alot of the 260hp the engine makes doesnt make it to the wheels.

You could expect around 20-25 hp gains. Mayybbee get 300 if you get it dynoed and tuned right. Never know, every car reacts differently. And there wouldn't be a reason to add the coupe mipipe the the stillen system. The stillen mid section is much better than the coupe midpipe. It's either just the coupe midpipe and maybe the HKS rear section or the full stillen catback. I wouldn't combine the both though

stillen gen 1 FTW...dont think they sell them anymore though.
As far as intake I kept the stock airbox and added a K&N drop in and Z tube.

Best Bang for your Buck......!

Bottom line you couldn't do better than the following combo: Stillen CAI/Z-Tube.....MotorDyne Spacer and Stillens dual cat back exhaust. This will not
only give you more HP but you'll love the sound!

To those who have the K&N air filter drop-in:

Have you had any occurrences of check engine light with the filter installed? I'm thinking of getting a K&N for my next filter soon but I had a semi-bad experience with K&N installed in my previous car (Lexus ES300) and only a few thousand miles later I get a CEL which turned out to be a dirty throttle body. Went back to stock filter afterwards.

I never had that problem, however I now run the Framm Air Hog.

??? I don’t know where to start… it’s indicative of what goes on out here…. Someone asks about a problem and the response is “nope, but I have this….”

Or someone asks about opinion and the response is “but what about this?”…

There is no such thin as asking a viable question and getting a responsible answer… most realistic responses will result in debate… am I wrong?… I’d love to be wrong about this!..

I ran the K&N filter for over 30,000 miles with NO PROBLEMS, I switched to the Framm Air Hogg because of the same concerns as the Lexusk8. I feel that the Framm is better at filtering small particles than the K&N. Do some research, you find a lot right here on this forum, including long mileage tests showing that the K & N lets a lot of stuff through.

OCG35: just don't post if you don't have anything constructive to add.

BTW, learn how to use the "QUOTE" button.

1. JWT Pop Charger and Z-tube are the best IMO for an intake.
2. Exhaust - Stillen for performance, look and sound or HKS for looks & sound only
3. Adding the Plenum spacer should be first on your list of you are looking for cheap reliable HP.
4. If you have an AT don't over look the Gourdee (sp?) 10-wire kit.

All the mods listed above seem to be the best bang for the buck, but You'll be getting alot less than 20hp to the rear wheels which means you won't be more than a fraction of a second faster in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. 10hp is usually good for .1 seconds faster in 1/4 mile and even less for 0-60 so its not noticable. Alot of times, you will be slower on low end a faster on top end. I would focus your search on the best sounding/looking mods and forget about huge horsepower gains froms these bolt-ons.
