OK so here is a small update on my project.

We got my car up on the lift the other day and started looking over everything. As most of you (who care) know the EVAP canister needs to be moved or removed. I think it is located higher and out a little more on the coupe to make room for the other muffler.

My first plan is to see if I can remove it and trick the pressure sensor so there is no SES light problems. If that does not work I think the box can be moved into the spare tire well and still fit my spare around it since mine is a coupe 19". The box is sealed so there will not be any vapor issues.

My fabricator wants to build and sell more of these in ~2.5" for other people. He knows that most of them will need to be shipped so we are trying to find a way to build this and not require much custom work. With any luck the extra hangers will bolt into existing holes.

Once we start I will be starting a new thread to show how it was done. If anyone else wants one we can talk about it there. We should be starting in a couple weeks.

Another update.

After a little more reading in my ESM I think we can remove it and just route the lines back into each other adding the pressure sensor back to keep everything happy.

This will be a modification to the emissions system so the exhaust would not be CARB legal or pass the visual in other states (if they look that hard). I know here in AZ they don't as long as it passes the sniffer and OBD check. It should pass the sniffer test as long as you keep your cats or put them back on.

If this is all we end up needing to do he can always include a plug for the other side so you could take the muffler off and plug it to put the EVAP box back on for the test.

We are building mine in three weeks over the weekend. More details to follow.

It will be about three weeks and I'll let everyone know. I'll start a new thread and post a link in here.

Tim, I know you said you want to start selling them. The biggest problem that marketers face is product housing. Also known as keeping the product safe so it does not get damaged. You do not want 6000 broken products being returned out of 10,000. That is why cereal is in a cardboard box, so it does not get smashed. If you need help with packaging ideas, i'm here for you. Just thought I would throw that out there since that is one of the major reasons products/companies do not excel. Good luck man!

It's not me who wants to start selling these. I want to help my friend out and maybe get an exhaust that many of you have been wanting.

As for packing, an exhaust is not hard to pack up since it's all welded steel. Some good packing materials and you're good to go.

Thanks

I'm going to make this work on my car either way. I just hope he can sell them to others too.
