Eh, 16k isn't THAT much if he was out looking for cars. A LOT of people will bring up the cash, and sometimes, when people see the GREEN, their eyes light up like a cartoon with the $$$... I bought my car for $13,500. I put $500 down, and brought him $13k in large bills later a couple days later, and I'm only 24. (23 at the time)

Back when I bought my boat, I had $7k cash in hand. The guy was reluctant, but as soon as he saw those benjamins, he was insisting on hooking it up to the truck, and sent me on my merry way! hahaha

i sold my 3000gt vr4 to an 18 year old girl for 13k.. she brought cash as well!!

I took her straight to the bank and did the transaction there and deposited the money before i signed any paperwork.

lets just say i have problems with trusting people who whip out 13k in cash.. could be fake money.

Just FYI - deposit the cash in increments of $5k or less or the bank by law has to notify the IRS of the transaction. I had one of the first Mini Coopers when they came out a few years back while I was living in Dallas. A guy came up and asked me if it was for sale and I said "everything is for sale" - he took my number and called me back later that day and we sealed the deal for just a hair over $25,000 and he paid in 100's and 50's delivered in a Tiffany's bag.

No you're not!

I think the most I've ever had in my hand was like $5500 cash way back when I sold my 65 mustang.

Speedraver is right....that is the price of alot of peoples mods.

$16,000 is good for an 03 with 59K miles. I don't think you got owned.... KBB value is usually on the high side....

yep. He probably had another 5K in another pocket... you should have gone higher. 16K seems low for only a little over 50K miles...

You do know that any transaction of $10,000 or more must be reported. If you deposit said $16k, the government will want a word with you.












































So keep in in the mattress for a rainy day.....

Well I think I did ok considering its the winter season and not too many people are looking for RWD sports sedans.

Yes, you did ok. I paid just under $3K more than that last December for an 04 sedan with 40K miles from an Infiniti dealer. One year later, and also a private sell on a sedan that's a year older than mine, I'd say $16K is ok...

pricing is all relative to the market you are in... here that seems a little low... I guess in some areas it’s normal.

If you guys have a joint account together they will still report it. Also if you put 5 in today and then 5 in tomorrow, then they will do a report sayin you are doing something suspisous. (sp)
