Re: Anyone not using he front license plate cover??
Hey G35Lakers...
Dumb question but........I was told that it's illegal to NOT run your front plate, is that true ? I have the Aero kit on my new G35 and I think the car looks much better without the front plate, but not sure if I want to run the risk of getting a ticket for no front plate.

Depends on what state you live in. Most, it is illegal, but then there's the question of enforcement. You're probably not likely to be pulled over for it, and if you are, the penalty probably isn't stiff. In California, it's a hassle.. you get a fix-it ticket, and have to re-install your plate (temporarily, if you're so inclined) and get it signed off. IMHO, it's better to just leave the front plate on the car, sure it doesn't look as good, but it certainly doesn't look bad, since they did bother to make an aerodynamic recessed place for the plate, instead of some big tack-on black plastic frame that breaks up the lines.

I live in Southern Cali, so it is illegal over here. Thing is, a car like our G's don't attract COPS. Think of it as an image thing. The G is more high-end then some riced out/tricked out car or low rider car. It's not a teenager car in other words. It's only a $10 fix it ticket if you get one anyhow. Chances of getting pulled over and getting a ticket just because you don't have a front license plate would be very very very small for a car of this caliber unless you're asking to get pulled over (going 100mps down a neighborhood street, bumping 2 15inch woofers next to a cop, etc.). I've driven next to COPS many times before in my G and haven't gotten pulled over. If you're still in doubt next time you drive, check out all the cars on the road w/out front plates. That should put you at ease.
