Talking Heated seat installation for 03 Sedan

Hey guys and gals this is my first post so bare with me. I did a detailed search regarding my question but didn't find much. I have one of the first G35 sedans (2003) and it doesn't have heated seats (2004 made heated seats standard). I was considering installing heated seats because it probably isn't that difficult. I swapped the original seats in the car for some 04 seats which means that the seat is already configured for heat, it just requires the wiring harness/cable assembly along with the switch and mounting it to the center console correctly. I'm just wondering if there are any other tricks or concerns I should be aware of . Thanks...

I should be pretty simple if you get the "premium" console with the seat switches on it. You can grab power for the illumination from the ashtray light or the AT illumination (if you have AT). You'll need a good source of power for the heater and make sure you put the right fuses inline so you don't fry your whole electrical system.

You are going to want to use a relay (or two if over 30A draw) with direct, fused battery power to the heaters. They suck a lot of juice.

Do you have an ESM (electronic service manual)? It gives all the wire colors but is a bit of a pain to find.

I had to do some rewiring when I put in my coupe seats.

Does anyone know of any good aftermarket seat heater kits out there? I'm thinking about installing some in the G35. I have the OEM heated seats in my FX, but the wife drives the G35 and she complains that her seats are too cold. (Imagine that.......and we live in AZ!!!!).

Thanks for all of the info guys. I'm thinking that it's easier than this. The seat is pre-wired so all I really need is the harness/cable assembly that goes from the seat to the heater switches to the fuse box/relay and the switches themselves. It's probably all one assembly or maybe 2 assemblies that end at the switch.
