Question about year-end buying (05 Sedan)

I've been trying to buy a sedan for the last month or so, and I may be close to getting one now. My local dealership has several 05s with mileage in the mid twenties for sale, all around $21,900. According to Edmunds, true market value for this car is $20,309 - $23,875, so I'm going to try to get them to lower the price. I'm wondering if it makes a difference whether I wait until after 12/31, or not? Will the car be worth less if it is technically another year?

Also, can I put 18" '04 factory rims on an '05 without any modifications?

Thanks.

Does anyone know if the value of a used car drops immediately after 12/31?
I'd like to make a deal on Monday, but if it will help me, I can wait for the new year.

all dealers what to get older cars off their lot by end of year... Oct is usually a good time to by current year models because the selection is still good, but dealers are trying to get rid of them for next year models...

As for a used car - the only thing I could think is year-end quotas or budgeting goals. So there is probably a deal to be had... however the longer that used car sits on the lot the more likely they will be to negotiate and get it out of there.

So for used car, I'm not sure it’s going to make much of a difference. Just realize if you don’t nab it, someone else might.

If you wait until the new year, it won't drop. If you went ahead and bought it in December, it dropped.
