Hate Going To The Stealers

Did a wash and wax on my 03 black sedan today and noticed the
beginning of surface rust on both sides of the car. Its a weird spot,
I thought the parts were plastic but not sure.

Its on the part between the driver side window and the rear window on the
same side, guess you could call it the pillar, and the surface rust
is on both back pillars on each back door, nothing major but its starting.

Anybody have this and what is our warrantee for this...

I do pamper, its a garage queen, even have a dehumidifier to keep
moisture down in the garage as I'm in the north east. Noticed the
surface rust after she was waxed. Stopped by one dealer and he said
come back in 2 months, then it should be perferated, so went to another
dealer and he took picks and started the ball rolling, they are supposed
to call me in 4 weeks, works out well, have some dings and scratches
on the doors, its over 5 years old with 140,000km..Seems this is a problem
they are starting to see in my area, they also say its under warrantee for 10 years.

Wow, changing the doors is pretty drastic! I personally wouldn't do it. I'd do the best I could to keep it from spreading (even thought that's hard to do). Plus you won't have matching Vins on your body parts?! It won't be all original. Thought maybe you'd care since you seem to care for you car so much.

The rust is inside the door, so you can never stop it, it will spread,
once rust is inside the metal there is nothing to stop it but cut it out
then I'm looking at seams which will rust eventually too, my concern
is the paint match, I might ask them to paint the whole car..

Don't confuse oxidized brake dust or other specs in the paint for rust. See if it comes off with claybar+soapy water first.

I noticed the same corrosion in the same place on my car. I didn't think the dealer would do anything about that, but I'll certainly run it by them soon to see what they say.

There will probably be a bulletin on it, both dealerships did not bat
an eye...I was not the first guy to show them this.
