Help - AT Sedan Owners
Please provide test information if you have an AT Sedan..
Test purpose: Determine auxiliary (electric) radiator cooling fan operation with stock mechanical fan and stock ECU.
Pre-test parameters:
1) Engine running in Park at normal operating temperature.
2) AC off.
3) AC temp setpoint at 60F.
Test steps:
1) Determine Aux Fan run status. Should be off. (I use a flashlight to check the aux fan's blades due to the mechanical fan's noise.)
2) Turn AC on and determine if the Aux Fan starts.
3) If running, turn AC off and determine if Aux Fan stops immediately or after a short time delay.
4) Observe above steps for at least one minute or until there's a status change.
Provide test information:
1) Your forum name / Your name
2) AT Sedan Year - 2003. 2003.5. 2004.
3) ECU - Stock, TS or ??
4) Approxiate coolant temp - 1/2 scale, one noch less than 1/2 scale, etc.
5) Ambient temp displayed - degrees F or C
6) Fan test results.
Two test examples:
1) DaveO
2) 2003 AT Sedan
3) TS ECU program upgrade
4) Coolant temp two noches below 1/2 mark.
5) Ambient temp - 78F
6) Aux Fan runs when AC is turned on after short time delay.
7) Aux Fan stops when AC is turned off, unless coolant temp is high (above 1/2 scale).
1) Anthony
2) 2003.5 AT Sedan
3) Stock ECU
4) Coolant temp - about 1/2 way (?)
5) Ambient - 76F (?)
6) Aux Fan did not run when AC was turned on.
7) Coolant temp remained normal due to mechanical fan operation and reasonably cool ambient temp.
Thanks in advance for your help.
