possible transmission problem??

i have a 04 X with 43,000 miles, only engine mod is a cold air intake.

today, i start my car and head of to school. all was well until i hit my first red light. stayed at the light till it turned green and started to accelerate. it felt like it got "stuck" in first gear for a second, till it switched to second. i just let it go, till it happened again! it only happens going from 1st to 2nd, or possibly 2nd to 3rd... low speeds only. im outta warranty, so that worries me more now. any idea what it could be, and if i take it to the dealer, should i take my intake out? i'm headed to the dealership this week for an oil change anyway..

what are the temps in your area? could be that the AT fluid was cold. Also, when was the last time you changed your AT fluid (not a flush, just a change?)

change at fluid as in oil change? i get that done every 3000 miles. the car is definitely not cold, because after i drove for 30 minutes, i parked it for 5 minutes, then had to head out again and it was still doing the same thing.

the temperature today is a bit warmer than yesterday, but nothing out of the ordinary. it was say 42 yesterday, and 55 today hehe.. could that really be it? i've never had a problem like this during last spring where it was the same temperature, or summer where it was much warmer...

yeah maybe get a transmission fluid change, must be nissan matic j though. Also, you are still under the powertrain warranty which includes the transmission, its 6 years or 70K. Have the dealer take a look.

well, my regular warranty expired at the end of january.. im not sure about the powertrain. also, this problem i'm having is non-existent in tiptronic mode. its only when its in "D", and only like the beginning of the 2nd gear. if i'm in slow traffic, its normally in second and when i accelerate, there's a noticeable lag. in tiptronic, its perfect.
