Changes for '05

Hey guys, take it for what it's worth, but autospies.com is reporting the following changes for the '05 sedan and coupe:

1. 20 hp more HP…280 and 300 respectively.

2. Revised/upgraded interiors from the b-pillar forward.

3. More features standard for the same price

4. New wheel styles

5. Better stereo

Are these just rumors? Yes...
Am I excited? Hell, yaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

Its only rumors but, if in fact the Sedan is getting a 20 HP bump ... I'm already sold ... I've been waiting on info for the longest time ... hopefully the 05s will come out by September when I'll be trading in my Maxima!

is it also rumored that the G will run $3k higher and include maintenance like BMWs? that was posted in another thread on this forum. just curious.

Re: Changes for '05

I really really hope that isn't the case ... $3K is a fairly high markup ... even if it is for Maintenence!

Oh well can't wait till September ....

For a better interior that matches or beat the new TL's interior, the $3K is a no brainer. I was talking to a salesguy who said they would up power to 300bhp for the coupe or sedan. I guess we'll have to wait for April 8th (that's when they're unveiling it right?).

Re: Changes for '05

Guy from another Forum who owns or manages an Infiniti dealership said this:

OK, here is what I know to date.

1. As previously discussed the interior is a complete do over. Expect to see seat controls changed, higher quality leathers and an upgraded dash, possibly LCD instruments since that is what is coming in the new M35/M45. I also expect we will see aluminum pedals added and the titaninum painted center (or any painted trim) to disappear. This makeover of the interior is a 100% redo and will incorporate many of the features you have asked for.

2. The sheet metal will not change but the front and rear bumpers will be totally redone and incorporate the aero kits, or something very similar to them, on both the coupe and sedan models. For those of you with 03 model sedans that have been wanting to buy an aero kit Infiniti has just reduced the price 23%. They are closing them out because next year thaey will be standard.

3. Don't look for a horsepower increase because there won't be one BUT you can certainly look for a price increase for at least 3 reasons.

a. Because of the upgrades.

b. Because ALG just added it to the top 10 of highest resale vehicles.

c. By not increasing the price on the new model it unnecessarily depresses the price of past models and they want to keep G35 in the top 10.

Re: Changes for '05

Price increase doesn't bother me because I've only had mine just over 6 months, and I figure I have at least 6 1/2 years, and 94000 miles to go, till I get out of warranty

Especially since I splurged, and got everything I wanted that Infiniti offered in the G35 but the AWD (I would have had to wait until December at least), and my first choice in color.

Who knows what I will want by then? If I have more than expected problems, not Infiniti. Fewer, then maybe it's replacement or another model.

I wish i could make up my mind.. I have a 04 TL on order, but i am seriously considering the G35X. I love the performance of the G, but im not crazy about the inside. I live in NH so the AWD is a huge plus for me, but i like the interior in the TL better HELP!!!

Bobby, wait a few weeks to see the new updated G35. If it looks better than the TL, cancel your order and order the 05, if not, get the TL.
