Ok, I Get It, Theres A FAQ Section
Ok, I Get It, Theres A FAQ Section
But If Everytime Someone Post A Question There Going To Get A "Use The Search Option Or CHeck in the FAQ" THEN WHATS THE POINT OF POSTING AT ALL, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST MAKE AN INFO SITE AND CUT OUT THE POSTING.
I say this with all do respect to the mods, i'm still a noob, you guy's run a good site, but i had to speak my mind.

It's not like the point to a forum is by repeating questions. When you spend a while on here, it gets annoying answering the same questions over and over and overrr... that's why there's a FAQ.
But that's for redundant questions, and if yours is unique, we're open to hear it!

Well ttrank did do one hell of a job on the sticky on top which covers A LOT of the questions that are asked. I do agree on the "SEARCH" comments but i'ts understandable to an extent. Noobs will be noobs and instead of bashing them for it, they can possibly learn on their own~ Took me a while to dig around the forum and find a bunch of interesting things (on my own~
) I've noticed thats a problem on any kind of forum you go on, aside from car forums~

You guy's make a point, I hear ya and your right I mean I've seen at least 100 mid-pipe questions, and maybe 200 "do 19"s fit on my sedan" questions. But thats the thing guys, to that person their question is unique, so while a more vet user might use terms and acrynoms another user might not understand what so ever. I dont know just thinking out loud, seems like every single question is reffered to SEARCH OR FAQ.

Hey, just for kicks I'm gonna start a thread on how to tell if I have a sport suspension in my sedan.
Its better for the noobs to reply to a thread on the same topic and hope someone responds.
Or pm someone from a thread.
We have an army of mods so its tough to get away with new threads.

1 - find exactly what they were looking for
2 - gather enough information to ask a reasonably intelligent question that would result in a detailed answer
Too often a new member will roll in and start asking questions that have been asked and answered 10,000 times without even trying to get a feel for how things work here or trying to obtain the information themselves.
It's annoying, plain and simple. Unless your car is on fire and you need a quick answer on how to put it out, just take a few minutes and learn stuff on your own - you'll be better for it and you'll learn hundreds of new things as you go.
I lurked from model year 2003 until 2005 when I bought my G. No posts, just reading. By the time I brought my G home I had pretty much answered all my questions plus thousands I'd never even considered.
Just thinking out loud.
Trending Topics
I'd say if you get annoyed by reposted topics you have too much time on your hands and maybe need to find a few more forums to frequent. I've been on forums since my Maxima 8 years ago, people repost questions, there is no way around it, just don't take it personally.

It's not that long and it's broken into sections per post. So if you have a brake question, go to the brake post and read for 3 minutes for your answer.
Your other option is to start a thread and wait a lot longer. I can't make it any easier... *sigh*

Brining up a thread from the dead? That is on the same level as reposting a topic, you still have the whiners who will bitch that you are bringing up an old topic.
