just went to take a look. What I was talking about doesn't look the same as what you showed in the picture. Sorry to keep you hanging man. I am not too sure where these go. THey probably just plug into one of the empty holes and hold the wire that powers the tail lights.

That's what I figured. Guess I'll just leave them out. Thanks anyway!

Found it!

I found out what those beautiful white clips are for.....please send $200 dollars to my paypal for this tid bit of info

The two clips are guides/holders for the two inner trunk release cables.

I was taking apart an 05 trunk lid I picked up today and was like "hey, I found those little clips"

Now you can sleep at night

Since several of you have done taillight swaps – I’m hoping you can help me… after I had mine painted, I found this piece (pic below) in the trunk… I’m pretty sure it’s a seal of some sort for the taillight, but I don’t know if it’s interior or exterior– or what exactly its function is… I haven’t had time to take the panels of the inside and look against the taillights… do any of you remember seeing this?

^^ It goes behind the tail light, i think its the Qtr mounted light. You would have to remove the trunk liner behind the light and loosen the srews, remove the light to get that back in there. gl

damn I was affraid of that... so its from the inside, but goes betwen the light and the body?...

Also, is there a way to tell which side it goes on?... I'd rather not remove the wrong one to find out it goes on the other...
