Adjusting HID headlight height

Adjusting HID headlight height
Can anyone describe how (and at what height), the headlights should be? I have a 2004 Sedan and the HID headlights seem a bit low. My 2002 Pathfinder throws a longer beam. I read somewhere that the headlights might be adjusted low from the factory so I need to know to to adjust and what is the maximum height the beam could be at legally. Any information would be helpful (especially where the adjust is)

Do a search on adjusting headlamps. I posted a similar
question months ago and go a very detailed description
of how to do it. If Infiniti put the headlight caps on your
headlights, you are in trouble as you will need to cut them off.

lol mosher1234... maybe you can call up your dealership and ask them if they could adjust it for you. or ask them to replace the caps after you're done adjusting the lamps. the caps didn't sound like a great deal for them to do compared to their other recalls. good luck adjusting or finding those bodies to put in your trunk. Re: Adjusting HID headlight height
mosher1234, I just adjusted mine. It was very easy. If you look towards the back of the housing, on the top, inboard, there is a quarter size hole. In that hole is two wheels with teeth on them which face each other. The front wheel spins freely and the back one is stiff. The stiff one is what adjusts your lights (not sure that the front wheel does anything other than help keep your screwdriver from slipping). Just put a piece of tape on the wall or mark it with something. Next start rotating the adjustment wheel with a flat head screwdriver. If the light patter starts lowering instead of rising, then just reverse the direction. My G is a 2004 6MT Sedan, and I had no cover blocking the adjustment wheels. They are in plain view when looking at the top of the light housing.
Hope this helps!

Re: Adjusting HID headlight height
Thanks for the info. I just adjusted mine. It takes about 12-15 "clicks" before something happens. I didn't want to do too much at a time. It did make a difference and I'm hoping I didn't do too much to blind oncoming drivers (although it only moved a "bit" passed my tape. Also, for those that are worried, moving the other way brings them down without a problem. Mine is a 2004 G35x so maybe the newer models make it easier. Thanks again for the advice!
