Questions about my '03 Sedan: Minor Probs

I'd rather shoot my foot than ask the dealer so here goes:

Every time I fill up my gas tank, the fuel meter only goes up to about 3/4 sometimes more sometimes less, no matter how much fuel I top off with. (Fuel meter shows FULL only when parked downslope).

And when the fuel light comes on and I fill up, the pump never always goes more than 15 gallons. The range of my G sedan for me is 320 miles before I worry that I will dry up my tank -- and the fuel light comes on at about 280 miles. I know the tank's capacity is 20 gallons.

I know there is something wrong. Am I the only one experiencing this? Is there a fix?

2nd Question: Like I said this is an '03 G35 Sedan. When I switch to Tiptronic, it always goes to 4th gear, whether I am at a stand still or on the highway. When I shift up to 5th gear and then I stop, it shows it stays on 5th gear on my speedometer area. When moving again, it just behaves like it was on automatic.
Taken to 2 dealers, and said this was normal. I'm not sure though. I test drove 06 G Sedan and tiptronic starts at the gear that the AT is on, and downgears as the car slows down. Help?

There's a TSB for the fuel filler: LINK

From what I've heard on this board, the older sedan's manualmatic mode works like you describe. I guess someone with an older G can answer it better.

Thanks for the help. Taking the fuel fill thing to dealer. I have an infinitihelp.com account, but cannot print the TSB since I don't have enough "privileges". Is there one handy around here so I can stick it to the service rep guy's face? I really don't trust my dealership... really.

Yeah the older 1st gen (03-04) G35's are like that. You basically select the top gear and shifts up to that gear from a stop where the 05-06 will stay in that gear.

Thanks for the help. I was going out of my mind when my cousin's '01 VW Passat's tiptronic shifted like the 05-06 G35s. So much for older gen sedans =/
