Back from the track!

First time out this year had a great time. Got there nice and early weather was great, but the track prep sucked. First pass and I got a new personal best. Hot lap it right away and was rewarded with:

60'.............2.166
330'...........6.022
1/8.............9.159
MPH...........79.24
1/4..........14.138
MPH...........99.55

I also ran 14.17 @ 99.74 this was my best mph. I really wanted to hit 100mph, but it didn't happen. With a set of sticky tires this car could see high 13's for sure. Off the line I tried to feather the clutch to prevent wheelspin, but on the 1-2 shift it would leave 10 feet of rubber. Actually, every gear would chirp the tires.
There was a variety of american muscle cars there including a viper, ZO6, mustangs etc. Also saw a Dodge Neon SRT-4 it ran 14.30 @ 100 not too shabby.
A few people commented how low 14's for a luxury sedan was awesome. Couldn't agree more, but wait till the mods start!

Man ... that is an excellent run! Were you power shifting?

Great times, Any mods?
Is this a 03?
I hear the 03 a little faster than 04.

Re: Back from the track!

I seriously doubt that. I ran 14.32 at 97-98 mph in my bone stock 04 6MT with 1500 miles and no changes done to tire presure, removing work tools, or jack or spare. Now that I have close to 5000 miles I plan to hit the track again soon, to see if I can hit a 13.9-14.1 somewhere.

Re: Back from the track!

No powershifting! I lift off the throttle on every shift, but it happens real quick. The car is bone stock no mods and its an 2003 year model. With a better launch I could improve on the times, but its a fine line between spinning and bogging.

Thanks
